And yes, digital requires knowledge and practice. You'll find a method that works well for you if you keep experimenting. Took me a good while to figure out the techniques that I favor now. it helps to watch videos of how other people paint, and then try to emulate it. I know the university library has the gnomon workshop videos. You can check out one of the digital painting ones and study it
